Wedding Prep

Vic and I arrived in Calgary about 2 weeks before the wedding to help the bride to be with all her preparations!  Our beautiful, organized oldest daughter had daily lists for all of us, colour coded according to the person needed for the job!!

Above are all the vases that I handwashed in the bathtub for the flowers during the wedding, and then the wish trees during the reception

Below are the boards that Vic painted and put together for the beautiful arch under which Sara and Jean were married!

I became the pom pom queen as I folded and cut and twisted to form the many pompoms that were seen at the rehearsal dinner

The dried branches had to be spray painted (to ensure no bugs joined the wedding), and then draped with very delicate pearl ornaments for guests to hang their well wishes on for the newlyweds.

Kate, Sara, Vic and I went rock hunting to find the perfect stones for the bottoms of the vases and their double duty - we settled for a beautiful shiny black rock that one of Burnco's employee's recommended to us when he offered his assistance (everyone else was steering clear of us!)

Vic, Sara and I had the pleasure of picking up the alcohol for the event from Enoteca, the wonderful wine store in the Southeast on McLeod trail, and Gary the great sommelier!  Very hospitable!!

and what a selection!

Precious cargo!

And lots of family fun times together in the process!

And the other adorable couple!

The light boxes Vic built to beautifully light up the reception venue

The almost newlyweds!

Truffle making - yummy!!

The very artistic Sara working away on the seating chart - a work of art!
