The Wedding - La Boda

Here we are all dressed up heading off to our friends' Piwi and Manuel's son's wedding.

8:00 service at this gorgeous church

Like in Cranbrook, everyone arrives at the last minute. When we arrived about 5 minutes before 8, there were about 20 people there.

Including the 16 or 18 bridesmaids all getting organized

The family all started arriving. Here are Manuel and three of his sisters, and Piwi, looking gorgeous!

The lovely couple - parents of the groom.

Proud Mama walks down the aisle with her boy.

By shortly after 8pm, there were about 800 guests in the Church!

The beautiful bride, Erika, with her father.

The bride and groom exchange their vows

All done! What a gorgeous gown, and the train was at least 5 meters long

Here is Piwi's grandson, Jose Manuel, who made quite an adorable entrance and exit!

And as we left the church just after 9, the next wedding party was already there getting organized.

The reception took place at the Hacienda Chichi Suarez, about a 10 minute ride from the Church, and Manuel's sister Mauru accompanied us to make sure we didn't get lost.

As you can see, the decorations were spectacular!

The newly married Erika and Manuel. What a beautiful couple.

The reception took place outside, beneath some of the largest tents we'd ever seen, and as the evening was cool, there were patio heaters all around the edges.  The chandeliers were massive and very ornate!

The bridesmaids watching the couple dance their first dance.

The newlyweds enjoy their first dance.

And even had fireworks go off behind them near the conclusion of their song.

The candy table was a lot of fun!

More decor

The wedding cake - not sure if they ever cut it.

The guests gowns were amazing!

Mother and Son

Ligis & Ligis (mother and daughter)

Vic and I in our finery, having a wonderful time!

More of Manuel's family!

Manuel's brother and his wife.

The band that played until after we left - great dancing music and we did LOTS of dancing!

Our table mates

Manuel and Eri beating out their frustrations

Lots of noise and fun! And mardi gras hats and favours were handed out all around!

I had my little bugs ears :)

More great gowns!

Fun times!

Ricardo and Lorena, Piwi and Manuel's other son and daughter-in-law.

Our table at around 2am

The bride is about to throw her bouquet!

Some pretty dashing men all dressed up too!

Mom's enjoying the hilarity of the garter toss!

As are Manuel and Eri!

And some guys just posing

Piwi and Manuel's daughter Piwi, are you noticing a name pattern here?  Most families have at least one son named the same as Dad, and one daughter named the same as Mom!
