Christmas 2014

The girls arrived first, and the decorating began in earnest!

And our men got to work on devising a heating system for the pool - solar heat that is!
But first a few cervezas had to be imbibed to stimulate the creative juices!

Our new grandbaby has grown so much in the 6 weeks since we left Canada!

Decorating our outside Christmas tree,
with our Mexican dog back in the fold.
Our dentists were kind enough to have watched her for the 8 months we were away, and she is still in great shape. She remembered us completely and was very glad to come "home" with us!

Audrey's bath time with Daddy

It's hot here for baby!

Auntie Katie and Uncle Sam with the babies

And Vic and his girls did the turkey trot on December 20th!
I even came in 3rd place for my age class in the 6km run, and WON a turkey!
I ran for our Christmas dinner :)

Poor Vic, missed the memo about wearing a blue shirt for the race - ha!

Still happy :)

We girls headed to the Chicxulub Food Bank Christmas party to help with handing out gift hampers to the families.

Uncle Daniel arrives and finally meets his new baby niece!

Pretty proud uncle I'd say!

And Auntie Katie's still very much in love, like the rest of us!

all the girls together :)

A day of fun. Off to Celestun to see the amazing pink flamingoes!

Enjoying a wonderful lunch on the beach after our outing.

Lots of good times spent by and in the pool

A day exploring the ruins of Dzibilchaltun, at the steps at the "House of the Rising Sun"

Our mountain goat!

And then a cool off in the wonderful, crystal clear cenote.

All but Sara and Audrey enjoyed a scooter ride either to or from the ruins that day!
What a hoot!!

Christmas Eve on our way to Church.

Grandpa and baby Audrey

Audrey sleeping in the adorable sleeping pod that Dan's girlfriend Jules had sent Sara and Jean.
It was a great place for her on many occasions.

Christmas stockings about to be unwrapped!

Poor PJ. No stocking for her. She just stole Sara's big pillow!

Audrey, one of Santa's little elves

Christmas dinner was shared with our good friend Xochitl!
So good to have her back from Mexico City this year!

The turkey meister! It was a little sketchy this year, as our makeshift turkey roasting pan sprung a leak, all over the oven, creating smoke everywhere.
Fortunately, the barbq was ready to go, and bbq'd turkey was awesome!!

The new family :)

Audrey with Auntie and Uncle!

At the beach in the early AM.
PJ having fun!

Pier in the background.

Breakfast! Donde is the tocino?

The princessa and the reina!

Sleep time again!

Lunch at Sol y Mar downtown. Always good.

Note the flags!

Let's go dancing!

I look sharp!  Uncle Dan looks good too!

Marvin tastes gooooood!

Snuggle time!

Sadly, they are leaving.  In Valladolid on the way to Cancun. Fly tomorrow.

Grandpa I am tired.  Lots of sun and you want to go out for supper?

A wonderful Christmas holiday. We are so blessed to have had all our children here with us to share this special time in our special place! Great memories.

Back in Mexico!!

At the end of November, Vic and I returned to Progreso for the winter.

We were invited to attend our friends' Christmas party for their staff's children.
We were asked to help sing Christmas carols? Wise invitation?

We attended with some of our other Progreso friends, and had a wonderful time enjoying some Christmas cheer

Wayne and Susanna were amazing hosts as always (Wayne's Santa Claus) - aka bad Santa. Ha!

After 2 weeks of house repairs and prepping everything, it was time for our children all to start arriving to share the holidays!

Our time in Calgary

Oh Grandma, I'm trying to sleep! Haven't you taken enough pictures of me yet today?!!

And Great Grandparents came to see their first great grandbaby.

Deb's Mom and Dad came in from Vernon

And we took a 4 generation photo of the girls

As part of our stay, Vic and I lived in an area called Ramsay for 2 months, where we enjoyed our proximity to the marvelous cycling/running trail system. I even got out roller blading on them a few times.

Here's Vic and PJ enjoying a ride! We can always tell PJ enjoys the rides from her smile.

We assembled at Katie and Sam's new house to take more great 4 generation photos.

And the newly engaged couple themselves :)

4 generations on Vic's side

And the proud parents :)

Fall 2014 in Calgary, Alberta

As you can tell, we've been a little busy!
This fall was spent in Calgary, enjoying our girls!
All 3 of them.

Vic and I were there to help Sara with Audrey and watch her grow, and man does that happen fast!!

Sara graduated with her Masters Degree in Education, having put in all the work while working full time as a grade 2 French immersion teacher, and a Mom to be :)

Proud Grandpa!

Such a happy baby!

Such joy!!!

A sleepy, happy baby girl in her Daddy's arms!
It was an amazing Autumn!!
