Dave and Jo arrived from Cranbrook, so we got together a group and headed to the State Fair the next night!
Awesome bus system to drive us the hour south, then back after 5 hours at the fair - $65 (about $5 Cdn), so we could all relax (and Dad could nap of course)!
Lots to see and do at the Fair - a definarium...
Some lovely wildlife that we could even handle if we wanted to, or purchase!
An adorable lemur was at a cost of just $65,000 (pesos), so about $5,000 Cdn. Cute, but we declined! Ha.
Jo was in her element with all the birds!
And prairie dogs
and iguanas!
Lots of colour and noise, and great snacks everywhere!
And some very different cows than any I'd ever seen!
We walked and toured, and had a great time, and the entrance fee? $15 (pesos), so about $1.20 Canadian!
Dave even got his fortune told by a live statue!
And the chicken danced for us
Later in the week we even went out for supper at one of our favourite restaurants in Progreso - Sol y Mar, where they serve wonderful stuffed fish, fajitas, guacamole and lots more!
It was nice to have a bit of a break!
