So, I've had a few more glitches (nothing serious) and so have had some testing done. Was found to be jaundiced so did a few more investigations, cut down on my crohn's meds, and everything seems to be falling into place.
Fabulous hospital, excellent service.
Lab right across the street
Our great friends, Judy and Keith!
Unfortunately, Keith was out playing baseball with the Chicxulub kids, and forgot he wasn't 20 any more!
He jumped (and caught) a fly ball, but landed on uneven ground, fell and broke his hip.
He was brought in to the Progreso Centro Medical, and they were ready to do his hip replacement! for 4pm that afternoon.
Unfortunately, the insurance company wanted to air ambulance Keith home and try to find him a place in Vancouver where he could have the operation done.
Obviously, with a recently broken hip, the pain would have been somewhat excruciating.
So after several rounds of discussion, and the local hospital on hold, Judy and Keith decided it would be much more comfortable, and expedient, regardless of their insurer, to have the surgery done here, and the recovery by the pool and ocean versus in icy spring conditions at home.
Despite the delays, Keith's surgery took place at 9:30 that night, and by Sunday morning when we went to visit, he was already recovering and looking great. They hope to have him ambulatory and excercising by Tuesday - more to follow.
An older but nice, clean private room with television and private bathroom
The CMA Hospital in Progreso is right across the street from city hall, and when we left that evening from visiting Keith, there was a gorgeous full moon (above)
